Carham Parish, Northumberland, United kIngdom

west learmouth

Also known as "OLD LEARMOUTH", 3 miles east of Carham, is a hamlet consisting of one farm and cottages.

It is said formerly to have been a populous village, and was once the property of the Earl of Tankerville (then Lord of the Manor of Carham).

In 1906 the farmer was Thomas Brown.

The Railway used to run close to the village from Cornhill to Wark, the line has long gone, but splendid viaducts are still in place close to West Learmouth.
